Summer music festivals in Suffolk

29th May 2015

Suffolk is the perfect destination not just for nature and bird lovers but also for those who enjoy crowds and music festivals. And this summer again promises a very impressive program to suit everyones’ taste.

The Guardian claims that Aldeburgh Festival is ‘arguably the best musical event in Britain’. It is a classical music event that attracts world’s leading musicians. The festival starts on Friday 12th June and will continue for two weeks.

Music by the Sea is a live music concert on Aldeburgh beach taking place on Saturday 4th July. It will feature a number of soul artists and is free to attend. This year’s theme is ‘Music Through the Decades’.

Winner of Line-Up of the Year at the UK Festival Awards, Latitude returns for its tenth edition, taking place from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th July 2015 in the stunning grounds of Henham Park, Suffolk. Following recent announcements including headliners Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Portishead and alt-J.

Henham Park is 10 minutes drive away from The Westleton Crown, hotel and restaurant, and makes the ideal base with the added bonus of sleeping in a bed with a luxury duvet and cotton linen.

The Westleton Crown is also only 15 minutes from FolkEast at the ancient parkland at Glemham Hall, where, for three days of the year starting on 21st August, the folk of the East and their families gather for an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional music where instrument, song, dance, poetry, art and heritage craft skills and knowledge are shared and collaborations born.
